“Many people want to know why, out of the entire white segment of society, we want to criticize the liberals. We have to criticize them because they represent the liaison between both groups, between the oppressed and the oppressor. The liberal tries to become an arbitrator, but he is incapable of solving the problems. He promises the oppressor that he can keep the oppressed under control; that he will stop them from becoming illegal (in this case illegal means violent). At the same time, he promises the oppressed that he will be able to alleviate their suffering – in due time. Historically, of course, we know this is impossible, and our era will not escape history.”
— Kwame Ture, “On the Pitfalls of Liberalism” (Stokely Speaks)
every time a new SA allegation of a favored celeb arises, i’m reminded of the absolutely soul-crushing experience of the depp/heard trial in which i learned that dozens of ppl i loved + respected + trusted were also willing to engage in the basest form of misogyny if it the woman Seemed Crazy Enough. there was a horrifying 2ish weeks on this website + much longer irl where i genuinely felt unsafe voicing my discomfort as i relived something eerily reminiscent of the aftermath of my own assaults playing out on screen, commented on by true crime youtubers like it was a red sox game.
it happens time + time again with every new allegation+ it’s truly the most agonizing + exhausting part of being a survivor. i am begging you all to consider that survivors are watching you engage with this stuff like theater + it erodes our trust in all of you + compounds our grief.
Hey guys! This is important so please dont scroll past this.
Wafaa’s old blog got shadowbanned, and its just yet another example of how far tumblr will go to silence palestinians when theyre already struggling to get by because of illness, starvation and the constant violence. It should alarm you just how frequent this is becoming with palestinian bloggers having to remake 3-4 times when theyre already living through the worst things imaginable.
If you don’t know who she is, Wafaa Alnhal is a woman in her 40s who had left for Egypt a little after the occupation attacked for medical treatment. She has since been working hard to spread her campaign and evacuate her family who she had to leave behind in Gaza, despite her own ongoing struggle with her health issues and making rent.
Initially her goal for her gfm had been 35k, but recently she’s had to raise it to 50k because her daughter has gotten hepatitis from the polluted water in Gaza. Her family is suffering- all 15 of them including 4 young children and a newborn baby- and they will have to live with the damage for the rest of their lives. It’s taking its toll on Wafaa too, who’s had to neglect her own health and wellbeing to raise funds for them.
She’s made a new blog @wafs-posts and you all should follow her there to get updates from her on the situation directly. You should be listening to her instead of hearing this from me.
Her gfm is currently at 12k/50k
They still have a long way to go, so please dont let tumblrs censorship slow them down
Her campaign has been verified, and there is a raffle being conducted (by @/ibtisams) to raise funds for her campaign so please give it a look, and consider taking part there are some truly beautiful journals to be won.
Please follow the raffles for palestine account and take a look at the other artwork thats up for grabs too!
UPDATE:
If you havent already seen the updates on this post, from wafaa herself or from others posting on her behalf,
The occupational forces have intensified the attacks on the area where her family was staying, and they don’t have the funds to move anywhere else. Wafaa’s sister and 15 year old niece were murdered during these attacks. And recently, their family home as well as the shops that were the family’s main source of income were destroyed by the iof. They are fully dependent on any funds Wafaa can scrounge up on here.
This is urgent. Wafaa’s family is struggling.
Please dont let her down, please keep sharing and donating any amount you can, please follow her blog @wafs-posts for direct updates on her situation
Please don’t stop. My children are under bombing, shells, fires, hunger and diseases. My daughter is sick with hepatitis. Living in a tent with insects. Like slow death. Please, I beg you not to stop and help us. You have a big heart and humanity. You are helping to save the lives of innocent people. History bears witness to your heroism in the face of aggression and injustice. Please donate and share our meaning with your friends and family.🥺🥺🥺🙏🙏🙏🇵🇸💔
Hmmm
The red triangle on blue and white stripes is the flag of the Association of Persecutees of the Nazi Regime – Federation of Antifascists, antifascists who were made to wear the red triangle by the Nazis in the concentration camps where they were incarcerated for their anti-nazi actions or ideology.
Germany is once again on the wrong side of history, once again choosing to support genocide. Germany is actively making part of its own antifascist history illegal to support an ongoing genocide!
Germany is banning a German antifascist symbol to stop criticism of the genocide being committed by Israel!

I’m Nour Alanqar, and reaching out to you during a time of unimaginable hardship. I am 26 years old, married to Ashraf Ismail, who is 32, and together we have three beautiful children: Hussein, 6, Rajaa, 5, and Youssef, just 10 months old. Our lives have been turned upside down by the devastating war in Gaza, and we desperately need your help.
My daughter Rajaa is a radiant beam of sunshine, bringing boundless joy, warmth, and love to everyone she meets.
On a dark night at the beginning of the war, our area was subjected to massive bombing. The explosions reached our home, forcing us to flee into the night, running amidst periodic explosions and searching for survival. We made our way to southern Gaza by morning, seeking refuge in Rafah.
This is our home, filled with our memories and moments of joy and happiness, now reduced to rubble. Its destruction shattered our hearts.
In Rafah, we found shelter in a crowded warehouse filled with strangers, all of us struggling to find basic necessities like food, water, safety, and cleanliness. Despite these challenges, we were again hit by direct bombardment. My husband was injured in the shoulder, and the scene around us was filled with blood and corpses. The cries of my children in those moments still echo in my head.
A fragment of what it once was, and now, what it has become.
We moved several times to places described as safe, only to face new tragedies. During this period, my precious daughter Raja contracted hepatitis, adding to our suffering.
It was incredibly difficult for me to endure these disasters, especially as I was in the process of giving birth. Youssef was deprived of proper breastfeeding and the necessary nutrition for his age. Hussein’s right to education and a safe childhood have been cruelly taken from him.
My baby Youssef, whom I clung to throughout the war, running with him through the rubble of shattered homes to escape.
At an age when Hussein should have been enjoying his childhood, all his rights were taken away from him.
Our situation is dire, and we need your support to rebuild our lives and provide a future for our children. Your kindness and generosity can make a profound difference. Your contributions will help us secure safe shelter, access to medical care, and the basic necessities of life.
Please, consider helping us during this critical time. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to safety, stability, and a chance to rebuild our lives.

i love how liberals think russia (or china, they can’t seem to agree on this) paying gay unemployed 20 somethings on a dying blogging platform to make jokes about joe biden killing himself is somehow more likely than people just being disillusioned with American politics
they could be but they’re not
Never in history has violence been initiated by the oppressed. How could they be the initiators, if they themselves are the result of violence? How could they be the sponsors of something whose objective inauguration called forth their existence as oppressed? There would be no oppressed had there been no prior situation of violence to establish their subjugation.
Violence is initiated by those who oppress, who exploit, who fail to recognize others as persons—not by those who are oppressed, exploited, and unrecognized.—Paulo Freire, Pedagogy of the Oppressed

Video shows the first moments following an Israeli airstrike on the entrance to a school where displaced Palestinians took refuge in Abasan, east of Khan Yunis (July 9).
I just want you all to at least watch the first 15 seconds of this. Palestinian men playing football inside a school turned shelter. That’s Israel’s target. If you watch until the end, then you will see what a single bombing can do. Now think of the thousands like it across Gaza.
25 people were killed in this attack.
The screams are haunting.
The instantaneous shift from calm to chaos is harrowing.
Thing is, if this doesn’t move you nothing will. I used to believe that some people will be moved by footage like this. I don’t believe that anymore, not when we have had nine whole months of the most horrific footage like this one, filling our feeds every minute of every day. If you weren’t moved then, I’m not wasting time to fix your monstrous indifference anymore.
This footage and others like it are still important to share, even within our circles, to serve as a reminder as to what we’re bearing witness to and our massive responsibility to honour those martyrs, to honour those screams and to keep fighting like hell for the living.
hi friends followers and admirers of ibtisam (@ibtisams) 🫶 she has asked me to make a small statement on her behalf while she’s not on tumblr anymore.
i don’t think it’s necessary to go into too much detail, but long story short she chose to deactivate her own blog, it was not done by tumblr. she has not remade her account, and if she ever does return to tumblr it 1. won’t be for a while and 2. it will be obvious it’s actually her and not an impersonator.
she apologizes to all the families in gaza who relied on her to share their story, and hopes that in her absence others will continue to boost them.
in regards to the raffle, she is devastated that rafflesforpalestine ended i getting caught in the crossfire when she had to delete her account. she put so much work into it, and she knows every person involved also put so much work in. she apologizes for putting herself over her fundraising efforts and hopes no real damage has been done. (with her having said this, I AM saying that there is no reason at all to worry ibtisam with anything having to do with the raffle/fundraising/anything really. if you have any concerns, questions, think there’s a way i can help you, please reach out to me.)
anyway i hope people will respect ibtisam and all she has done enough to not use this as an opportunity to speculate on anything or impersonate her. instead, please just continue doing what we all know she wants us to do: help palestine!!!
